NEW FOR 2015:
-Limited Edition R8 Competition model
-Standard power-folding side mirrors
-Available Alcantara headliner and red brake calipers
Audi's flagship sports car gains a new Competition trim for 2015, with design and performance elements inspired by the R8 LMS racecar, and with a 570-hp V10 that makes it the most powerful Audi to date. Act quickly, though: Audi is building just 60 Competition models for North America.
The rest of the line remains the same, save for the addition of a few new standard and available features. V8 trim gets a 4.2L V8 making 430 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque; V10 models use a 5.2L V10 with 525 hp and 391 lb-ft, and V10 Plus trim gets a pumped up version of that motor, making 550 hp and 398 lb-ft. V8 and V10 models come in coupe and Spyder (convertible) models, while the the V10 Plus is coupe-only. A six-speed manual transmission is standard in all models, save for the Competition model, which gets as standard the seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission that is an option with the other engines. Naturally, Quattro all-wheel drive is standard across the line.
Standard features in V8 trim include Audi magnetic ride, hill start assist, power rear spoiler, Alcantara/leather seats, cloth headliner, Bluetooth, concert radio, LED headlights and taillights, dual exhaust, matching sideblade, heated sport seats, automatic wipers and headlights, garage door opener, automatic climate control, front under-seat storage, colour driver information display, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, eight-way power front seats with four-way lumbar, satellite radio, and electric tilt-and-telescopic steering.
V10 models all fine Nappa leather seats, high-gloss rear bumper fascia, navigation, multi-media interface, Audi music interface, 12-speaker stereo, advance parking system, and a backup camera.
V10 Plus also builds on the V8 model, and adds sport suspension, carbon sigma sideblades and mirror housings, navigation, multi-media interface, Audi music interface, titanium grey rear bumper housing, and carbon ceramic brakes.
